Deducting Airtax's costs from your return
Yes. You are entitled to claim a deduction for expenses related to managing your own tax affairs.
For example, these deductions will relate to expenses incurred in relation to:
(a) preparing and lodging your business activity statements and income tax returns;
(b) travel to attend a meeting with a registered tax adviser;
(c) interest charges imposed by the ATO.
You can also claim deductions for the cost of using a registered tax agent to lodge your income tax return. Therefore, you will be able to claim a deduction in your next tax return for the cost of using Airtax to prepare your tax return this year.
