Suitable for: Rideshare drivers
Tax Difficulty: Moderate
Time to Read: 3-5 minutes
We know our customers often drive with multiple rideshare platforms. While we currently have an automated connection with the Uber platform, we endeavour to one day have direct connections with all of these providers. In the meantime we have produced this comprehensive guide that will help you record this information on your Airtax BAS in under 5 minutes.

What statements do I need?
To complete your Airtax BAS including your Ola, Didi, or other rideshare provider income and expenses, you will require the tax summaries - which should be supplied to you on either a monthly or quarterly basis. You will be able to find this information in your driver account with each rideshare provider, or otherwise these statements should be emailed to you.
*Note: if you are supplied monthly tax summaries from these providers and you lodge your BAS on a quarterly basis (every 3 months), you will need to repeat the below process three times and report the total of your income and expenses across the three months on your BAS.
Where does the income go?
If you already have Uber income that is synced to your BAS, your income from Ola and/or Didi will need to be reported in the “Other Income” field (shown in below screenshot).
Remember, this field will only accept whole numbers, so make sure you round any decimal income totals in this field to the nearest whole number.
If you do not have any connections to your BAS (such as Uber), you will report this income in the “Income” box.
Where do the expenses go?
Your expenses from Ola and/or Didi can be reported on the Airtax BAS in the “Other Car Expenses” field, as shown below.
Any expenses listed on the monthly tax summaries from these rideshare providers will need to be declared with a 100% business use percentage on Airtax. This is because there is no personal use for these expenses.
Ola Example
-
Recording Ola Income on the Airtax BAS
Referring to your tax summary from Ola, you will sum-up the below highlighted fields and report the result as your Ola income in the Airtax BAS.
The resulting figure represents the gross income from Ola that is reportable for BAS purposes. The below screenshot shows how this Ola information would be reported on Airtax.
-
Recording your Ola Expenses
Referring to your tax summary from Ola, you will sum-up the below highlighted fields and report the result as your Ola expenses in the Airtax BAS.
The resulting figure represents the allowable deductions from Ola that are reportable for BAS purposes. There is no need to split out tolls from this total figure when you are recording your Ola expenses on the Airtax BAS. You will report this total in the “Other car expenses” field on Airtax - alongside a 100% business use percentage.
Didi Example
-
Recording Didi Income on the Airtax BAS
Referring to your tax summary from Didi, you will sum-up the below highlighted fields and report the result as your Didi income in the Airtax BAS.
The resulting figure represents the gross income from Didi that is reportable for BAS purposes. The below screenshot shows how this Didi information would be reported on Airtax.

Recording your Didi Expenses

The below screenshot shows how this expense amount would be reported on the Airtax BAS.

Recording multiple different rideshare providers
If you are operating with multiple non-Uber rideshare partners, you will simply combine the income and expenses from each and record the totals in the same Airtax fields described above.
Example: Jackie is a rideshare operator and drives with Uber, Ola, and Didi. She has already pre filled her Airtax BAS with some Uber income.
Jackie confirms from her Ola tax summary that she needs to report $1200 of Ola income on the Airtax BAS. At the same time she also earned $500 of Didi income, as per her tax summary from Didi. This means she earned $1700 from both Ola and Didi in this period.
The below screenshot shows how she would report this situation on Airtax.
